Meet Dr. Matthew Swan

Dr. Swan is excited to lead the team at Swan Smiles & Orthodontics and Nephi Smiles & Orthodontics! He loves teeth so much, he decided to pursue four extra years of training after dental school and is a specialist in both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics.

Dr. Swan is one of the few dual-specialized doctors in all of Utah and the FIRST in Utah County!

He grew up in Cottonwood Heights and attended BYU, where he majored in history. After completing dental school in San Francisco, he moved with his family all the way across the country to Rhode Island for specialty training in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Swan spent a number of years in private practice in Utah, then decided he loved orthodontics so much that he wanted to be able to offer it to all his patients.

He packed up his family of eight and moved across the country again — to Florida this time — to pursue specialist training in orthodontic treatment! He was trained in and is comfortable using all the latest and greatest orthodontic techniques.

Dr. Swan and his family miss the gorgeous beaches and warm, humid days in Florida but they were very glad to return to the beautiful scenery that Utah offers.

Dr. Swan loves all sports, especially golf and basketball. He is a musician and a connoisseur of good music. He plays the piano, saxophone, and guitar, and is learning drums. He always loves to settle down with a good book, but he rarely finds time for any of this because his seven kids find plenty of great ways to fill up all of his time! He loves hanging out with his wife, two boys, and five girls. There’s nothing he’d rather do.
